Ryan Babel, the former forward of Liverpool would love Cody Gakpo to be a part of his old club. However, he believes that Arsenal can be a better option. Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is attracting interest from three London giants in Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur next summer, according to 90min (h/t Express). The 27-year-old sees his current contract expire next summer and the Reds are yet to agree to a new deal with the midfielder. Should they fail to do so, the Guinea international will be free to speak to other clubs for a pre-contract agreement in January. Now, the three London giants are interested in the 27-year-old. They will, however, not be able to speak to him in January and can only negotiate with him next summer due to Premier League rules.
Keita moved to the Merseyside club in 2018 from German side RB Leipzig. Since then, the 27-year-old has failed to live up to his expectations. Much of his time has been spent on the sidelines with the midfielder having suffered repeated injury issues. A hamstring injury has kept him out since August and the Guinea international has not featured for the club in either Premier League or Champions League. Continue reading →
Liverpool have had some stellar players over the years but there have also been some absolute stinkers and before Jurgen Klopp rocked up, there were some dreary years. Liverpool flop Ryan Babel might be best remembered at Anfield for his winner against Manchester United. However, his career has somewhat nosedived since and he finds himself plying his trade in the Turkish second division with Eyupspor. The 35-year-old made the move to the club this summer where he has made one appearance so far.
Babel first hit the headlines when he joined Liverpool in 2007 – 15 years ago – as a youngster from Ajax, where he had been touted for stardom. However, the striker failed to make much of an impact in front of goal despite ample playing time. Across three and a half seasons, the Dutchman scored 12 times in 91 appearances in the Premier League – but that did include one moment that endeared him to Liverpool fans forever. Continue reading →
According to 90 Min, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Bayern Munich and Germany winger Leroy Sane to Anfield in the ongoing transfer window. Sane, a product of the FC Schalke youth academy, shot to fame in Germany before earning a big-money move to Manchester City in 2016. The 26-year-old soon became a key player in Pep Guardiola’s setup and went on to register 37 goals and 46 assists from 134 appearances for the Cityzens. He returned to Germany in 2020, signing for Bayern Munich.
However, Sane’s time at the Allianz Arena so far has not been the roaring success fans expected it to be, as the German winger has struggled for consistency in his performances. So far, the twinkle-toed forward has made 91 appearances for the Bavarian giants, bagging 25 goals and 28 assists across all competitions, scoring and assisting a goal apiece in two games in the new season. In all, Milenkovic has made 172 appearances for La Viola, scoring 14 goals and assisting another. But with just a year remaining on his contract, the 24-year-old defender could be on the move this summer as Fiorentina will want a transfer fee to invest in other areas in the ongoing transfer window. Atletico Madrid are among the potential suitors, with Diego Simeone eager to add defensive reinforcements. The Rojiblancos did not have the best of La Liga seasons as they failed to defend their league title, finishing third. They are thus eager to strengthen their squad and get back to challenging for La Liga superiority. Continue reading →
