Hull City ownerAcunIlicali has pledged not to sign big names in the transfer window this summer in the bid to secure Premier League promotion for the Tigers amidst the rumours linking the club with a move for Galatasaray attacker Ryan Babel. Apart from Ryan Babel, Hull City have also been linked with ex-Real Madrid and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil who has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Fenerbahce in the Turkish league. Babel and Ozil have emerged as Hull City transfer targets this summer as revealed by Turkish media outlets.

Hull owner Ilicali and manager Shota Arveladze have a busy summer transfer window as they try to add new players capable of propelling the club to fight for honours at the top end of the Championship table. The Tigers were on the bottom end of the Championship for the whole of the recently concluded season on their return to the second tier of club football in England. Hull City had sealed Championship promotion by winning the League One title last season.

Dutchman Ryan Babel was linked with a move to Hull City in January, but the former Liverpool and Ajax Amsterdam player opted to stay at Galatasaray. Babel has reiterated his desire to stay at his Turkish club in his latest interview. For Ozil, the German is a friend of the Hull City owner thus leading to transfer reports of a transfer with the German out of favour at Fenerbahce. New Fenerbahce manager Jorge Jesus has already hinted to Ozil that he’s not in his plans ahead of the new season.
