According to 90 Min, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Bayern Munich and Germany winger Leroy Sane to Anfield in the ongoing transfer window. Sane, a product of the FC Schalke youth academy, shot to fame in Germany before earning a big-money move to Manchester City in 2016. The 26-year-old soon became a key player in Pep Guardiola’s setup and went on to register 37 goals and 46 assists from 134 appearances for the Cityzens. He returned to Germany in 2020, signing for Bayern Munich.
But Sane is no longer a guaranteed starter at Bayern Munich as he has to contend for a starting berth alongside Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and new signing Sadio Mane, who left Liverpool to join the Bundesliga champions earlier this summer. Indeed, the 26-year-old German international has not started either of Bayern’s two games this season, playing a combined total of 37 minutes.
This situation could lead to Sane considering his future at the Allianz Arena, especially with this being a World Cup year. Real Madrid have shown an interest in signing the former Manchester City winger, but as per the aforementioned report, Liverpool have also entered the fray to secure the services of Sane.
Former Liverpool star Ryan Babel has stated that he believes the German attacker will be a big hit at Anfield if he ever makes the move.
