Hull City have continued to shown how committed and persistent they are in their pursuit of Galatasaray winger Ryan Babel. They kept keeping their hopes up in their bid to sign the Holland international star to the MKN Stadium before the end of the January winter transfer window but they were unable to do so in what was a transfer blow to the club. Babel is going to be out of contract at the end of the current season after which he will become a free agent in the summer as long as he does not put pen to paper on a new contract at the Turkish Super Lig giants. According to Hull Live, the Tigers attempted to sign the 35-year-old in a shock swoop but they were unable to do so.

Babel’s first stint in England started in 2007 when he left Dutch Eredivisie League giants Ajax to sign for English Premier League side Liverpool. He spent four years at Anfield and during that time, he made 144 appearances for the Reds and managed to score 22 goals for them. He left Liverpool and went to continue his career at Hoffenheim, Kasimpasa, AL-Aim, Deportivo la Corina, and Beskitas before sealing a move back to England to join Fulham ahead of the 2018/2019 season.

Ryan Babel is of Surinamese descent but was born in the Netherlands. He represented the Dutch team at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship for u-20 players on home soil. Babel could not save the Netherlands from crashing out of the tournament as hosts at the quarterfinal stage. Nigeria ended their participation at the tournament via penalties. Ryan Babel scored his own penalty during the shootout but his team still managed to lose 10-9 to Nigeria thereby exiting the tournament in the last eight. Babel scored two times in four games during the tournament eventually won by Argentina via a pair of penalties from the great Lionel Messi in a 2-1 win over Nigeria.

Babel made his international bow for the senior team in a 2-0 win over Romania. He came on as a first half substitute for Arjen Robben and went on to seal the win with a second goal during the game played on March 26, 2005. His goal against the Romanians made him the youngest goalscorer for the Dutch senior national team in 68 years and the fourth youngest goalscorer overall.

Dutchman Ryan Babel didn’t have much of an influence on the game as his Galatasaray side played out a goalless draw with hosts Lazio in Group E of this season’s Europa League campaign. Ryan Babel and his fellow Galatasarayattackers were limited to half chances by their hosts as the two teams settled for a share of the points with the knowledge that they are already through to the knockout stage.

Lazio and Galatasaray had already qualified for the next stage before they met in their final group game at the StadioOlimpico in the Italian capital of Rome. However, Lazio needed a win to usurp Galatasaray at the top of the Group E. In the end, they could not get the result needed to replace their Turkish opponents at the top of their group.

Dutch winger Ryan Babel was seriously linked with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool in the summer. The Reds were said to have made a £14m bid for the player on July 10, 2007. Two days later, it was reported that present club Ajax Amsterdam and Liverpool had agreed an £11.5m deal for Babel. Liverpool confirmed the deal in the following day as it was revealed that the player will put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

Ryan Babel was unveiled as a new Liverpool player alongside Israeli player Yossi Benayoun on July 13, 2007 following his big money transfer from Dutch football giants Ajax Amsterdam. Dutch winger Ryan Babel made his professional debut at Ajax Amsterdam at the age of 16.Babel started as a striker as Ajax Amsterdam thrashed ADO Den Haag 4-0 in a Dutch Eredivisie encounter played at the Amsterdam Arena. Ryan Babel was a month-and-a-half away from turning 17 when he played his first game for Ajax Amsterdam on the first day of February in 2004. Dutch international Babel didn’t feature again for Ajax that season as they won the league title ahead of rivals PSV Eindhoven, AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord.

Ryan Babel scored his first goal for Ajax Amsterdam nine months after his debut. His debut goal was against De Graafschap on November 20, 2004. Babel scored one of the goals for Ajax Amsterdam in the 5-0 thumping of DeGraafschap.

Former Liverpool player Ryan Babel has opened up on his past life and career, including the one he spent at Liverpool Football Club. Back in the summer transfer window of 2007, Liverpool agreed on a fee that was believed to be in the region of €17.25 with Dutch club Ajax for the transfer of Babel from the Dutch league to the Premier League.

Babel joined the Reds and made some reasonable impact having scored 22 goals and provided a further 18 assists in the 14y appearances he made for the Anfield club. The numbers he had at Liverpool were really encouraging for a player of that price tag but he, unfortunately, could not get his hands on any silverware during his stay at Liverpool.
