Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes has revealed that Anderson Talisca could be on his way to joining Liverpool during this summer’s transfer window. The Brazilian footballer has been on loan with the Turkish outfit over the past two seasons but Gunes had admitted that the Black Eagles are unlikely to re-sign him on a permanent basis from Besiktas this summer.
Talisca has been long linked with a move to England with the interest in his signature stretching to the summer of 2016. Back then, both Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers were supposedly keen on acquiring his services but neither could get a deal done after it was known that the attacker would not be offered a UK work permit.
Since then, the 24-year-old has put into top-notch performances in the Besiktas shirt and he was most-recently called up to the Brazilian national side, although he could not make an appearance. Liverpool are yet to make any sort of approach for Talisca, which has been reported in the British media but judging by Gunes’ comment, the player has a strong possibility of plying his trade in the Premier League.
Aside from Liverpool, Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the former Bahia graduate but it is unclear whether Jose Mourinho would consider a move after ruling out forward signings for the summer transfer window. Talisca has mostly featured in an attacking midfield role with Besiktas and contributed 20 goals and seven assists during the recently completed season.
