Ryan Babel Announces Departure from Deportivo La Coruna

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has announced his exit from Deportivo La Coruna by saying that he wants to spend more time with his family.

The Dutchman has become somewhat of a journeyman since leaving Liverpool a few years ago. He played for the likes of 1899 Hoffenheim, Ajax,Kasımpaşa, and Al Ain. His failure to establish himself at a single major club has been the biggest problem in his career. At 30 years of age, he is fast running out of time when it comes to the top level of the game. He was once seen as one of the promising youngsters and it prompted Liverpool to pay £ 9 million for his signature in 2007.

The exit from Deportivo La Coruna is not surprising considering that he has been linked with Turkish outfit Besiktas in the last few weeks. It has been reported that Besiktas were ready to pay the player around € 1.7 million for a contract that will last around 2 ½ years. Continue reading

Babel states that Liverpool coached him poorly

Ryan Babel is one of those players that at an early age he was highly expected to make an impact in the world of football.

At the age of 17, Babel made his debut in the first-team of Ajax and Liverpool even opted to splash out £14 million for him on 2007.

The Dutch player spent 4 seasons in the Premier League outfit where he consistently managed to make over 25 appearances in almost every single season but most of the time, his presence just wasn’t really felt and despite having made a fairly large amount of appearances, it was not a memorable period of time and the Dutch player later got into some problems as he got fined due to Babel’s usage with his social media platforms.

After having spent 4 years in Anfield, the Dutch player was offloaded from Liverpool as he could not develop or progress how the club was originally expecting and Ryan Babel has recently spoken about his time spent in Anfield and he said that one of the reasons of why his playing career never really managed to live up to the expectations and why he couldn’t perform in Liverpool was because the Premier League club failed to properly coach him. SWANSEA’S FER HAS INTERESTING LIFE OUTSIDE FOOTBALL

With Swansea’s Leroy Fer, there is no single dull moment.

The player is a good dancer and singer, and has gained popularity for his efforts. During the club’s pre season tour in the United States, he performed Drake’s Controlla at the hotel for his teammates.

“A solid eight,” the player said he would rank score himself for the show. The footage has not been released to the public but the rendition would definitely be top notch going by his past performances. Fer was married to a lady – Xenia – two years ago. During their wedding, they put up an amazing dance routine that went viral on YouTube and social media.

When asked about the show, Fer said: “Very popular. We were playing against some clubs and even in the game players came up to me and said: ‘wow, what a wedding dance you did.’ Sammy Ameobi and Benik Afobe both said that to me during a match. And when I signed here, all the boys were like: ‘I’ve seen you on that wedding dance.’”

When asked how much time he practiced for the wedding performance, since he was in the Holland national team players that featured in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he said: “We didn’t even practice that much. I swear, it was two times for 20 minutes. On the day, we had a slow dance first – a proper wedding dance – we were talking to each other and everybody was watching. So I said to Xenia: ‘Are we going to do this?’ And then we just looked at the DJ and he flicked the tune. No one else knew what was coming.”

The 26-year old made headlines in Holland when he partook in a rap duel with Vurnon Anita – a Newcastle Ajax player.

“We both love music, he’s really into rapping, he’s got his own studio, so we made one track with Ryan Babel [former Liverpool forward] and another football player in Holland, Michell Burgzorg – he’s a good rapper. That song went big as well,” Fer added.

Atletico rest players ahead of Bayern tie

Atletico Madrid rested some players ahead of the Wednesday Champions League clash with German side Bayern Munich.

The La Liga side seem to have found their mojo again. Diego Simeone has been sterling since taking over at the Madrid-based outfit. Despite two disappointing Champions League finals result against Real, they seem to be ready to have another go at the title this season. Simeone thought it wise to rest some players, and save some firepower for the German machines.

Atletico scored nine goals when they recently met Celta Vigo and Sporting Gijon. In the UCL, they thrashed PSV Eindhoven 1-0, and played a 1-1 draw with Barcelona. They are quite difficult to stop when they are in this form, and Simeone doesn’t want fatigue to be in the way of the players’ performance when they face Bayern in the Champions League.

Atletico played Deportivo in the La Liga on Sunday, leaving out star players Stefan Savic and Saul Niguez. Others like Kevin Gameiro and Gabi and started from the bench, while the others played so the game is not thrown away. Bayern have won six game in six matched in the Bundesliga this term, and have already registered a five-star performance in the 5-0 routing of an opposition in the Champions League.

Godin would have to ready mentally and physically to stop Robert Lewandowski. Savic and Gimenez would have to be ready for Bayern, as the attacks from Deportivo – who are already missing Lucas Perez, and whose replacements Joselu and Ryan Babel are nothing compared to the Germans – seem to rarely startle them. Captain Gabi would need to bring his leadership skills to the fore when they play one of their biggest games yet this season. Atletico defeated Deportivo 1-0 but might not be that lucky against Bayern.

Babel never wanted to join Al-Ain

On July of 2015, Ryan Babel joined the Arabian Gulf League club Al-Ain as he made his move from Kasimpasa over to Al-Ain but his time spent at the club based in United Arab Emirates has been extremely disappointing just how his career has been ever since he left Liverpool back in 2011.

Babel has a contract with Al-Ain which extends until 2017 but it was confirmed earlier in January that the Dutch player never really wanted to join the club.

“I think Babel will go back to Turkey to play with Fenerbahce. And Emmanuel, we have one team from China interested and Fenerbahce want to take him back. I think he’ll go back to them and Babel might as well.’’

“This is normal in football. Sometimes big name and big players come and don’t do anything here. This can happen in any team. Sometimes you bring one big name and he doesn’t want to play that’s my opinion on Babel and Emenike, I think they didn’t want to play here.’’

Those were the words released by a board member of Al-Ain, Mohammed Obeid as he revealed that Ryan Babel along with Emmanuel Emenike never really performed at the potential that was initially expected.

Mohammed Obeid stated that neither Ryan Babel nor Emmanuel Emenike did have any true interest in performing with the rest of the team.

Ever since Ryan Babel left Liverpool on January of 2011, Babel has gone on to join a number of different clubs and his career has been going through a downhill path as Babel went from being a young player with a bright future that struggled trying to live up to the expectations and having disciplinary issues with many of the clubs that he joined.

LIVERPOOL FANS WANT MORE FROM WIJNALDUM

Liverpool started off on a great note when they scored four goals against Arsenal within 18 minutes.

They defeated the Gunners 4-3, even though the score-line doesn’t reflect the true happenings in the game. They conceded two cheap avoidable goals but endeared fans with their sterling attack. However, new signing Georginio Wijnaldum didn’t impress fans as much.

They defeated the Gunners 4-3, even though the score-line doesn’t reflect the true happenings in the game. They conceded two cheap avoidable goals but endeared fans with their sterling attack. However, new signing Georginio Wijnaldum didn’t impress fans as much.

Wijnaldum was named in the starting XI but the Dutchman didn’t do as much on his debut. Reds players Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane were the creative forces during the game, eclipsing other players. Wijnaldum didn’t show the dominant display that was expected from the former Newcastle United ma. He was signed following the relegation of Newcastle to the English Championship. A section of fans and supporters thought the transfer fee high following his inconsistency in the last campaign. He joined for £25 million, and many thought Jurgen Klopp could have negotiated the player a little less considering he was enthused with the chance to return to top flight football.

Wijnaldum was the highest goal scorer for United last season, netting 11 times but the goals were not enough to save the struggling side. He played 88 minutes in his debut, scoring just one goal but in the wrong net. Wijnaldum deflected a goal to his own net, upsetting fans that already wanted more from him. Before the deal, some fans and analysts were weary despite his record in the Dutch Eredivisie. A popular parlance in the attack of his transfer was “for every Luis Suarez that scored in Holland, there was a Ryan Babel.” Ryan Babel is a former Liverpool signing that went wrong despite his decent run in Holland while Suarez turned to be a prolific striker at Anfield, partnering well with Daniel Sturridge and making huge return with his transfer from the club. there is still time but Wijnaldum would need to show his potential quick.

HERTHA BERLIN SIGN BEERENS

German outfit Hertha Berlin has confirmed the signing of Dutch international Roy Beerens. The winger was formerly with Reading Football Club but agreed to the three year deal after agreeing personal terms with the club.

The 28-year old signed the deal but the fee was not disclosed. The Royals claim they got the services of the player ahead of others despite the competition for the signature of the player.

Manager of the club Jaap Stam spoke highly of the player. He said: “Roy has a lot of qualities. He is a winger that can play on either the left or the right, and technically he is very strong. He has pace, he can score goals and create chances for others. I think he is going to be a player the fans will enjoy watching.”

The coach also added other qualities that made him sign the player. He said the club’s transfer policies focuses on players that can use possession to their advantage and can create things from such possession. He said the club begun talks with the agent of the player immediately there was an opportunity to sign him.

Roy Beerens began his career at PSV Eindhoven where he played in the Eredivisie in his formation years. Eventually, he moved to NEC Nijmegen on loan in 2007 before becoming an established player at Heerenveen. He played international games when he was at the club with his debut at the 2008 Olympics for Holland.

He was a regular for the Under 21 side and has made two appearances for the senior Dutch side. At the tournament in Beijing, he played along players like former Liverpool player Ryan Babel, Jonathan De Guzman, Roy Makaay. At the tournament, they bowed to Argentina. He joined Hertha Berlin in 2014 from Holland and has gone on to score four goals in 26 starts.

Babel back to Liverpool

Ryan Babel was back to Liverpool but this time not as a player but as a visitor.

The former Liverpool winger said that he still likes the club as well as the city. He visited the city and made a video documenting his visit that he posted online.

It has been five years that the winger has left Liverpool but he clearly still loves the city and to hang around with his friends. He was filmed visiting some popular sites in Liverpool, and he stated that the city has some nice bars, clubs, and restaurants.

Ryan Babel stated that he still loves the city and that he still has a house there. He said that he visit the city whenever he has some free time and that he still love to stay in the house that he bought. He feels at ease there. He admitted that a lot of things have changed in the city since he left the club, but there are still some great places to visit as a tourist.

When asked how he feels about the Liverpool FC, he said that he still has some good memories of his career there. He stated that he has a good relationship with the club and also with the staff. He said that fans still recognize him as a former Liverpool player on social media and that it is an honor for him to have played for this big club. He said that playing for Liverpool has been an amazing moment in his career and that he will always be cherishing the memories.

One person however that Ryan Babel would have certainly disliked during his Liverpool career is Rafael Benitez. He has accused the Spanish manager of being the one that ruined his career while the latter said that Babel did not have the level.

Ryan Babel defends Gerrard

Ryan Babel has come to Steven Gerrard’s rescue. The Liverpool captain has been accused by El-Hadji Diouf of hating black people.

Steven Gerrard stated in his autobiography that El-Hadji Diouf was the signing he liked least at Anfield and El-Hadji Diouf had seized the opportunity to criticize the former Liverpool captain.

El-Hadji Diouf told the press that Steven Gerrard also did not like Mario Balotelli, and this is why he was treated as such at Anfield. He said that he told the Italian striker that Liverpool is a racist club and that they do not welcome black players.

El-Hadji Diouf told the press that Steven Gerrard also did not like Mario Balotelli, and this is why he was treated as such at Anfield. He said that he told the Italian striker that Liverpool is a racist club and that they do not welcome black players.

Diouf went on to say that he had warned all black players not to play for the Anfield side except if they are a British player.

Liverpool were shocked by the allegations made by their former player and said that they are looking at legal advice.

However, Ryan Babel was faster to defend the club from these accusations and told his facebook page that Steven Gerrard is not a racist.

A Liverpool fan asked Ryan Babel his opinion on the comments made by El-Hadji Diouf and the former Liverpool winger said that he had not seen this from Steven Gerrard. For Ryan Babel, this is an unfair accusation, and El-Hadji Diouf is wrong to be speaking this way about the former Liverpool captain.

Ryan Babel said that it was Steven Gerrard that has helped him to adapt to life in the Premier League and that he has never seen him behave in a racist way. The former Liverpool winger believes that Steven Gerrard is a professional and that he will never behave in such a way.

Whilst Babel has given Gerrard his backing, another group offering him support is the English FA, who are believed to have approached the former Liverpool captain and offered him a role in the national team.

Whilst you probably have more of a chance of winning at the casino than England have of making the Semi Finals of the World Cup, Gerrard and the rest of the ‘Golden Generation’, including David Beckham and Gary Neville, want to make England great once more.

Gerrard is currently playing for LA Galaxy in the MLS, but it is being rumoured that he might make a return to England as a coach, though this would not be for the immediate future as the player still needs to complete his coaching training.

It is believed that Steven Gerrard might return to his former club Liverpool and take charge of a youth team, before stepping up to a role with the national side. This would allow him to acquire experience before taking charge – it’s all part of the learning process.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that Steven Gerrard, and a few other former England players, will have a say in the appointment of the new England manager. The FA is keen to make the best possible choice for the England team and is believed to be consulting former players so as to get their input.

Steven Gerrard has been one of the most successful players in the England national team where he has made 114 appearances and scored 21 goals.

RYAN BABEL COULD MOVE TO THE MLS THIS SUMMER

Liverpool cult hero Ryan Babel could be set for a move to the MLS during the summer transfer window.

The Dutchman recently filmed his trip to the Merseyside, speaking of his affection for the city. He stopped by some familiar sites in South Liverpool and the city centre. He also made a quick stop by the house of former rival Steven Pienaar.

Babel left Anfield five years ago in an over five million Pounds move to TSG Hoffenheim. The player who seems retirement bound is rumoured to be interested in a move to Salt Lake City in the MLS, after leaving former club Al-Ain FC in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year.

“I remain having good memories from my time at Liverpool. I’ve still got a good relationship with the club and the people around the club. The fans still honour me every day on social media, I respect all of the people who give me the props for the things I have done for the club,” Babel said of his time at Liverpool.

“A lot has changed since I left. You have a lot of nice places, bars, clubs and restaurants. Which you can visit if you’re a tourist,” he added in his video of the city.

Babel was set for a move to Turkey to join Fenerbahce after the UAE champions gave him the go ahead during the last transfer window. He was to return to Turkey with team mate Emmanuel Emenike as the club claimed both were not fully committed.

Though Emenike scored nine goals in 15 appearances, Babel had a poor run throughout his stay with just two goals since his move from Kasimpasa. Al Ain sought replacement for the players in Colombian winger Danilo Asprilla, 27, and Brazilian striker Douglas, 28.

Emenike eventually returned to Fenerbahce, his parent club who loaned him to UAE, and then he played the rest of the season at West Ham while Babel, 29, couldn’t get any club fuelling the speculation of his move to the MLS.
