Babel Tweet Sparks Media

A tweet from Ryan Babel has sparked media attention as the Dutch winger wrote on his official twitter account stated that he was on his way to Liverpool, no further details were written and this could mean that Babel could simply be just reuniting with some of his old friends or actually making a return to Liverpool, the club where he used to perform some years ago.

At his 27 years of age, Babel has a lot to offer and considering that the attacking division of Liverpool took a huge dip after selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona it is now up to the Northern Irish coach to decide if he wants to spend some of the injection of cash he received in signing Ryan Babel.

Considering all of the players available in the transfer market it seems highly unlikely that Rodgers would be focusing on Ryan Babel instead of other high profile performers but it still is quite surprising all of the attention and rumors that his tweet has fueled.

Ever since Babel made his departure from Liverpool, the Dutch winger has went on signing for Hoffenheim, Ajax and now currently Kasimpasa of Turkey. His career has not exactly been as prolific after leaving the Premier League club.

It’s unlikely that Babel would be making a return to Liverpool for the fact that when he first joined the English club, he could never really make an impact at Anfield Road as the Dutch arrived from Ajax with a transfer fee in the region of €11 million but he failed on living up to his price tag and expectations. Brendan Rodgers will need to sign a recognized and proven player that can in some way or another fill in the gap left by Luis Suarez.
