Babel Believes Liverpool Can Still Perform

Ryan Babel has said that despite the absence of Luis Suarez, Liverpool should be able to perform well in the English top tier in the ongoing season.

According to Babel who himself had been a part of the Reds’ first team squad for a fairly long period of time, the young players of Liverpool have progressed well in the last few seasons and now that Suarez is not there, it’s important for them to step up and ensure that the club’s performance doesn’t go down.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, Babel said, “I’ve been really impressed with the growth of some of the Liverpool youngsters. The likes of Daniel and Raheem have gone from strength to strength and they are going to be pivotal for Liverpool this season.”

“You never want to lose phenomenal talents like Luis Suarez, but, I reckon, in Liverpool’s case, the exit of Suarez would not make much of a difference because they have got the personnel to replace him.”

The Reds took on Southampton FC in their first league match of this summer last weekend and secured three points with a win of 2-1. As the score line suggests, it was not a crushing win by any means, but, the positive for Liverpool in that game was that both their key players (Sterling and Sturridge), whom they are banking on so much this season, found the back of the net .

However, Liverpool’s main worry this season is actually not the front line. That looks alright despite Suarez’s sell. It’s the backline which is a concern for them. They were not solid enough in their defence during the 2013-14 League and there were not encouraging signs in that area in the Southampton game either. Brendan Rodgers must know that he can’t dream of winning the league with a fragile defence.

Babel Tweet Sparks Media

A tweet from Ryan Babel has sparked media attention as the Dutch winger wrote on his official twitter account stated that he was on his way to Liverpool, no further details were written and this could mean that Babel could simply be just reuniting with some of his old friends or actually making a return to Liverpool, the club where he used to perform some years ago.

At his 27 years of age, Babel has a lot to offer and considering that the attacking division of Liverpool took a huge dip after selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona it is now up to the Northern Irish coach to decide if he wants to spend some of the injection of cash he received in signing Ryan Babel.

Considering all of the players available in the transfer market it seems highly unlikely that Rodgers would be focusing on Ryan Babel instead of other high profile performers but it still is quite surprising all of the attention and rumors that his tweet has fueled.

Ever since Babel made his departure from Liverpool, the Dutch winger has went on signing for Hoffenheim, Ajax and now currently Kasimpasa of Turkey. His career has not exactly been as prolific after leaving the Premier League club.

It’s unlikely that Babel would be making a return to Liverpool for the fact that when he first joined the English club, he could never really make an impact at Anfield Road as the Dutch arrived from Ajax with a transfer fee in the region of €11 million but he failed on living up to his price tag and expectations. Brendan Rodgers will need to sign a recognized and proven player that can in some way or another fill in the gap left by Luis Suarez.

Netherlands To Take On Australia

The Netherlands national football team will take on Australia tomorrow in their second game in the FIFA World Cup 2014 which is currently going on in Brazil.

The Dutchmen would be bubbling with confidence coming into this game after the result that they achieved in the opening game of their campaign against the defending Champions Spain. They just crushed Vicente Del Bosque’s team and pushed them on the verge of a shocking exit.

Defeating Australia shouldn’t be a big challenge for Holland at all. There is just no comparison between the two teams. While, Holland is filled with versatile players, the Australian team only has one or two guys who can be termed world class.

The Aussies, however, in their first game against Chile showed that they are actually not as bad a team as people are supposing them to be, but, despite all that, the skill difference between them and the Dutchmen is just too big.

It would be an achievement for Australia if they manage to prevent a humiliating defeat in tomorrow’s game.

Holland, on the other hand, would be looking for another crushing win so that they can enter the knock out round in some style.

After the huge victory against Spain, Holland has started being considered as the red hot favourites for the title along with Germany.

This tournament is Louis van Gaal’s last assignment as Holland manager and his boys would love to give him a memorable farewell.

Van Gaal has been the manager of Holland since the last 2 years. He had been appointed in 2012 and he has taken the team in the right direction since then. After this tournament, he would leave his post and take charge at Manchester United, the English Premier League club.

His consistent string of performances have attracted the likes of many clubs around the world but Real Madrid has taken a special kind of interest for the Uruguayan attacker as the Spanish club is believed to be preparing an offer in the region of €70 million for Suarez.

Throughout the years, Real Madrid has made a number of astronomically high transactions which has been the main tool that they use in order to sign their targets.

Throughout the years, Real Madrid has made a number of astronomically high transactions which has been the main tool that they use in order to sign their targets.

C.Ronaldo became the most expensive footballer in history in July of 2009 when the Portuguese attacker made his way from Manchester United to Real Madrid with a price tag of €94 million but a few years later Real Madrid once more made headlines around the world as they offloaded €100 million in order to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham.

It seems like this time around Real Madrid is prepared to go deep in their pockets and offer Liverpool a similar kind of offer for Luis Suarez during the summer transfer window.
Suarez stated a few days ago that he has no desire of leaving Liverpool which means that Real Madrid will have to search somewhere else for another attacker.

“I signed the contract because I love it here in Liverpool and I’m so happy here. If you’re not happy here you don’t sign any contract. I love it here and this mentality I like because maybe in some other dressing rooms I am bigger than you and another bigger it’s difficult for the team-mates to play together on the pitch in something like that.” Suarez said.
